
Meet
Dr. Alexandra Chalfin

I am a clinical psychologist with training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and Psychodynamic psychotherapy.
A native English speaker, I am fluent in Spanish and have used it in a clinical capacity with clients across the lifespan in both private practice and in hospital settings.
I received my doctorate in School-Clinical Child Psychology from Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, part of Yeshiva University (Bronx, NY). I completed my postdoctoral fellowship in DBT and CBT at Cognitive and Behavioral Consultants (CBC) where I conducted individual and group therapy. Prior to graduation, I completed my predoctoral internship training at New York City Health and Hospitals – Lincoln, working with children, adolescents and adults in inpatient and outpatient units. Before that, I was a clinical extern at Kurtz Psychology Consulting, PC, where I was trained in Parent-Children Interaction Therapy (PCIT), as well as in Parent Child Interaction Therapy for Selective Mutism (PCIT-SM). In prior years, I did externships at Montefiore Medical Center’s Rose F. Kennedy Center/Children’s Evaluation and Rehabilitation Center (CERC) and in the Harrison Central School District in Harrison, NY.
